My Little Organizer

About a month ago, I found Sione lining up cars in his room. He has since branched out and likes to line up crayons, dominos, and even my tampons. Welll, last night he got into the pantry. This kept him busy for a good 30 minutes. He was very serious and even refused to eat. He definitely has his Daddy's organizing gene!

Thank You Sione

The last few days, I have felt the love of my Heavenly Father through the love of my tiny son, Sione. Since his birth, I've always been aware of his sweet, calming, and peaceful spirit and this week he has helped me in ways that I don't think he will ever realize. How can I tell a baby that his sweet smile and cooing is what got me through the day? Or that the only peace I felt all day was felt when he snuggled up under my chin and just laid with me? How can I explain to him that his laughter lifted my heart out of a dark and empty place or that the gentle grabbing of my face filled me with hope and love? My love and appreciation for Sione has grown tremendously and I am again awed by my Father in Heaven's knowledge of my heart. He knows me and knows what I need and what will help me when even I don't know. Thank you Sione for the tender and innocent love that only you could give and thank you to a Father who knows His daughter and sends help through small and simple means.

"I have commanded you to bring up your children in light and truth." -Doctrine and Covenants 93:40

On Sunday I did a sharing time in primary about superheroes and how Jesus is the only real superhero. On the way home from church, Makai said "Mommy, I didn't know that Jesus was a superhero." I explained to him that Jesus isn't like Superman or Spiderman, but that He is a superhero. He then told me that he wanted to be just like Jesus.

Yesterday, I caught Makai and Kalea playing "missionary." They had gone into Kalea's room and gotten two of their religious picture books, one about Jesus and the other about Joseph Smith. They then proceeded to our formal living room and sat on the couch. Makai was holding his book and showing it to Kalea and teaching her about Jesus. He said that Jesus loves us and can help us do anything, that he can even help us find our toys if we loose them.

Today, as we were driving in the car, Kalea asked, "How do we get to Jesus?" I told her we have to choose the right every day and try to be good. She said, "I want to do that, Mommy."

I am so thankful for my wonderful children. I am humbled by their pure desires to be good. I am so thankful that Christ has restored His gospel so that I can strive to lead my children back to Him.

For Posterity and Others

So, in an attempt to make some sort of personal record and to be more connected with friends and family, I am starting a family blog. This is something I do with great hesitation in fear of not having time to do a decent job, but here it is. Either way, it is better than nothing, right?

So for all of you readers out there (I'm sure there are millions), welcome to our blog!
